Child Care Financial Assistance

At the YMCA we make access to safe and reliable childcare our priority.  We believe that no one should be denied access to YMCA childcare programs based on the ability to pay. The YMCA of Rock River Valley offers a variety of child care financial aid options to suit your family. Every child in each of our programs receives the same quality of care, regardless of whether or not their family receives financial assistance or scholarship.

IDHS CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (CCAP)

The IDHS Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) is a state funded cost share program that provides low-income, working families with access to quality, affordable child care. Families are assigned a monthly copay and YWCA caseworker. Applicants must: live in Illinois, be employed and/or going to an eligible educational activity, have children younger than 13, and have a household income below allowable limits. Families must submit all application materials, by appointment, to the YMCA in order to be considered.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

1. Check your eligibility for CCAP

The YMCA asks that families seeking financial assistance begin by checking their eligibility for CCAP with the CCAP Eligibility Calculator. If the CCAP Eligibility Calculator indicates that your family is eligible to receive funding through CCAP, you must make an appointment with a YMCA Financial Aid Coordinator (step 2). If the CCAP Eligibility Calculator indicates that your family is NOT eligible to receive funding through CCAP, please scroll down to the YMCA SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES section.
