Child Care Financial Assistance

At the YMCA we make access to safe and reliable childcare our priority.  We believe that no one should be denied access to YMCA childcare programs based on the ability to pay. The YMCA of Rock River Valley offers a variety of child care financial aid options to suit your family. Every child in each of our programs receives the same quality of care, regardless of whether or not their family receives financial assistance or scholarship.

IDHS CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (CCAP)

The YMCA of Rock River Valley accepts the IDHS Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) for various youth development programs. CCAP is a state funded cost share program that provides low-income, working families with access to quality, affordable child care. All applicants for CCAP must: live in Illinois, be employed and/or going to an eligible educational activity, have children younger than 13, and have a household income below allowable limits.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

1. Check your eligibility for CCAP

The YMCA asks that families seeking financial assistance begin by checking their eligibility for CCAP. If your income does not qualify for CCAP funding but you would still like to seek assistance, then please scroll down to the YMCA SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES section.

2. Contact the YWCA (located at 4990 E State St. Rockford, IL 61108)

If you are interested in receiving financial assistance for our child care programs, you will need to FIRST follow one of two steps:

For Families currently receiving CCAP: Contact your CCAP Eligibility Specialist at 815-484-9448 for a “Change/Add Provider Form.”

For Families new to CCAP or whose CCAP case has been inactive for 30 days or more: You will need to complete a new application.

Application can be found HERE.

The YWCA may also mail an application to you. To get into contact with the YWCA, please call 815-484-9448.

Each family that receives CCAP is assigned a monthly copay and YWCA caseworker.

After completing the previous steps, you will now be ready to make an appointment with a Financial Aid Coordinator at the YMCA. Families must submit all application materials, by appointment, to the YMCA in order to have the estimated CCAP funds adjusted on your account.
