Congratulations to YMCA Chief Operations Officer Trisha Tousant for being named to the Rockford Chamber of Commerce 40 Under 40.
Trisha moved to Rockford in 2011 and started working at Camp Winnebago. New to the area, but not to the Y, Trisha immersed herself into the culture of this organization and community. She soon assumed the role of Membership Director and then Associate Executive Director for the downtown location of the YMCA. In 2014, Trisha took part in Leadership Rockford to broaden her knowledge of this area. She used this opportunity to build relationships and seek out community needs. She took that information to the Y where she created new processes to make it easier for members and staff. Eight years later, she is the “go to” person at the Y for just about any question you could have. She has led by example and with determination and her long list of accomplishments speaks for itself.
Trisha was recently promoted to Chief Operations Officer. She oversees the operations of the Y’s three membership branches, YMCA Children’s Learning Center and YMCA Camp Winnebago. Additionally, she provides oversight for YMCA Kids’ Time, which serves more than 1,000 students in before and after school care throughout Rockford Public Schools, Harlem School District and Pecatonica.
Trisha is a true collaborator. She is continually looking for organizations with which to partner in order to serve a wider audience. She doesn’t do this to benefit the Y, she does this because she cares about people in our community. Trisha understands that we are better together.
