Log Lodge Ornaments For Sale

We are excited to unveil this year's installment of the Rockford Historical Buildings Ornament featuring the historic YMCA Log Lodge! The J.R. Kortman Center for Design releases a new ornament each year. The YMCA Log Lodge was built in 1947 and celebrates 70 years of gracing the banks of the Rock River. It was the first YMCA building on the I.D. Pennock Family YMCA campus.

The glass ornaments are hand-painted by an artist that specializes in a style of painting unique to China, called "inside painting."  Each ornament is original, but is based on a painting created by local artist Jeanne Ludeke.

The Log Lodge is home to meetings, special events and regular prayer groups as well as children participating in summer day camp. The building was constructed by Schmeling Construction.

You can own this beautiful ornament for $28. We have a limited quantity, so act fast! Just visit one of our YMCA facility locations or the J.R. Kortman Center for Design.

Proceeds from the sale of the ornament will help with renovation costs of the Log Lodge.  Updates will include exterior renovations, log repair, lighting, flooring, windows and more. Our goal is to ultimately raise $500,000.
